We were headed to Balicasag Island for some snorkeling on my birthday Saturday and saw a float way out in the ocean. Turned the boat around, grabbed the line and hand-lined this fish in. Talk about a long snout full of razor-sharp teeth! I just called it a needle fish, don't know the correct name. Did get to see some huge fish and sea turtles where the coral drops off into the depths while snorkeling, but this is in the protected Marine Sanctuary. Looks like I need to buy an underwater camera, unbelievable beauty just under the surface and the water is so clear you can see over 30 feet easily. Did get all my fishing equipment but with the home construction no time to fish. The guy I rented the boat from said he'd take me out anytime I'm ready. Can't wait to take him up on the offer. Only costs 1500 pesos, about $35, for a day. Be fun to troll some of my pike and trout lures through the salt and see what happens. Ol' Goat

Haven't made it back out to fish. Been working on the new house since August. Should be able to put the finishing touches on by the end of February. Then a trip back to the states in March and when I return, look out fish!

It appears that all is well. That's good news. I guess he didn't read the other thread.
