They pulled out another one today with Inge as the hero for a change. The magic number is 9 now.

How long til playoffs and who is it looking like they are playing? Heard something about if to have Verlander pitch a game so they can get homefield or save him for game 1 so it must be close.

17 games to go. I don't know who they'll get in the playoffs but Leyland will for sure rearrange the rotation so Verlander goes first.

Was at my Aunts' today whie the game was on. Don't know who was louder and skipped heart beats more? Me when Stafford went down near the end of the Lions game (ended up just leg cramps) or her when Valverde made the 9th interesting again.

It sounds like your aunt suffers from flashbacks to the Todd Jones era. That bonehead blew so many saves one season that I'm suprised he made it out of Detroit alive.

I say when Valverde allows hits before ending it that he makes the game exciting, she says she doesn't need that excitement

It just ended at 14-4. What a roll these guys are on. Bring on the f'in Yankees. Magic number is now 6. Mickey York on FSD says 10 wins in a row is their longer winning streak since 1968? I think he's wrong, the Tigers started '84 with very long streak if I remember correctly.
