I'm here, I'm here, don't panic! Good game so far tonight, 5-0 in the bottom of the 8th. Martinez is a monster, I'm so glad we picked him up this year. I have to believe his leadership in the clubhouse is paying off too.

Batter fouled one into his mask and at first the announcer asked if the mask broke. After many replays, it looked to be sparks. It was right when you logged on. I'm sure it will be on baseball tonight or sportscenter

I did see that. It looked like something broke off the mask. Maybe it was sparks from the thumbtack Verlander puts in the ball to get that mean curve. ;D
Wait, it's over. Magic number is 4.

If it was a broken piece I figured they would've looked at it or gave him a different one? That's what they do for a goalie in hockey. Maybe it was a piece broke off? With as many as Avila takes to the face, I'd looked at it if I were him. So what was that, 24 for Verlander and 44 saves for Valverde?

What a game today. Penney gave up his runs early, but the Tigers chipped away at the lead and in the 9th down 2 runs with one on base Avila came in to pinch hit and hit a homer to tie it. Then in the 10th they take a 1 run lead and time for Pappa Grande who struckout the side to end it. Sidenote.............. In the very short time Avila played, he managed to take one to the face again. ;D

What a crazy year Everyone was sweating their usual collapse and they came out firing on all cylinders. It'll be fun to watch if they stay hot going into the playoffs.

There's not much more to say. It took them until August to finally gel as a team but holy crap have they gelled. Winning is fun and these guys are having a blast. A few days ago V Mart hit into 4 double plays. Instead of bashing the crap out of the bat rack he was smiling. Life is great when you can have a bad day and your buddies fill in for you.

I was listening to the game today and Dan Dickerson and Jim Price were just plain giddy when the Tigers tied it in the 9th. You don't often hear them get all emotional but it's hard not to this year.
