Finally did a little planting tonight. Got all my stuff from the old man next door, he starts all his stuff from seeds in the winter. Got some tomatoes, romas, grape, and a mystery kind I'll find out when they start. Planted some cuke seeds, the bush type, not the vine, seem to take up less space that way. Also got a mystery squash from another neighbor. Yes I'm a bit of a free loader. ;D Now I just have to run out and pick up some peppers, and maybe a few cabbage, also gonna get my string beans in tonight or tomorrow. I'll get a pic when they grow up a bit.

We all got a late start here Todd. That's a good thing for the tomatoes since we went from record rains to a record high temp for Flint today. If they would've had maters on them and it got this hot, they probably would've dropped them. Been reading on a garden forum that tomato plants are confused this year thinking it's the end of the season do to heat. The folks in Texas went 3 months with no rain and heat from 85-103. They are reporting no matter hom much water they give them, they get no tomamtoes. Troy, are you putting the cabbage in a shadey area? Put Mom's lettuces and spinach in the shadeyest spot of her garden and she said they started sprouting today. Pretty hard to get the greens to sprout or grow in these temps. The weekend should help though, gonna be a little cooler. I've been watering my containers twice a day. I have a few tomato blossoms that fell off and have baby maters growing, hope they stay growing and don't drop.

Just got done planting mine. I have summer squash, buttercup squash, pumpkins, cantaloupe, 3 kinds of tomatoes, cucumbers and pickling cukes, green peppers, jalapeno peppers. Also planted velvet queen sunflowers on two of the sides for a sort of a fence to hide my weeds. ;D Also started a small strawberry patch next to my shed. It's beer thirty now!!!

Saw Troy's garden today, no wonder he isn't posting pics lol. SLACKER! all due repsect, he's been busy with digging a new septic field that I also saw and he did it to perfection, plus I stopped by to drop off a deer head to get a European mount so I can't really bash him. Hahahaha, thanks buddy. Still haven't seen pics from "I have a big compost pile" Andy's garden. Please don't let me run the garden board with a balcony garden. That would be so lame. Big thanks to Troy for offering to do my European mount. And if you saw his fb status about when he finished his septic field with a couple buddies help and I asked why I never got a call to help, he told me today while at his house that he texted me and hours later thought "Why wouldn't Bret reply"? then looked at his phone and saw HE never sent the text. HAHAHAHA. I offered, but you gotta hit SEND! sorry Troy, but I had to tell everyone. ;D
