I give this campground a big 2 thumbs up. Very nice. Most sites have some privacy and between the sites are cedar trees and they allow weeds to grow up to them so you don't see your neighbors on the lots behind you. Never buy campground or gas station firewood. Buy from locals. This guy drives through 7 days a week with a bed full of bundles and a trailer that has a boom and pully setup. This is what you get for $25 off the trailer. Huge deal compared to campground and gas station. We visited the Sturgeon Point lighthouse Not sure if the words will show up in the 2nd pic, but this is the Bernice D. It's a 30' long commercial fishing boat built in 1915. Looks pretty shallow inside to be on the great lakes. Jackie next to an old school house we saw by the lighthouse [img src="http://i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb9/BP991/camping/016.jpg[/IMG i207.photobucket.com/albums/bb9/BP991/camping/013.jpg"] And I got put in the corner I have more pics on Jackie's camera I haven't uploaded yet, but I will and I will post them.

Nice hat! That boat is pretty cool too. I'll bet they fished fairly close in with a boat like that.

Wouldn't catch me far out in a boat like that. This said and I've heard before that whitefish was the top commercial fishery. Unless they focused primarily on the spawning in shallower water, they would've had to go deep. I don't know, but I found it interesting.

Pretty sweet boat!! As far as the commercial whitefish fishery goes, I know that in modern days commercial fishing they stay in quite shallow for the whitefish, and new commercial laws dont allow the nets to be out deeper than 125 FOW i beleive... Pretty sweet peice of history!
