Nice pics, cool to see different things guys enjoy. Never done it, don't have any hunting buddies who do it, so never tried. I'm into my eighth year water fowl hunting and used to be an avid bowhunter. I've damn near gave up on whitetails during duck season and made it out one time this season. I once told a buddy I would never give up bow hunting to shoot birds but now I think of deer hunting through an entirely different perspective. I do regret not getting out more last year. Problem is I never pass up a morning to duck hunt and make my own schedule at work. So I hunt the am and then work till dark in the pm, sacrificing my deer hunts. That leaves weekend afternoons but a guy's gotta drink a beer sometime right? lol.

Nice photos! It's been many years since I did any waterfowl hunting. After the lead shot ban I tried for about 2 seasons with steel shot. I got tired of wounding birds so I gave it up. Are you shooting a 10 gauge?

Are you shooting a 10 gauge? Hahaha. No, a 12 ga. Benelli Nova. I just aim at them. lol ;D ;D On a serious note though, yes birds get wounded but not too often. I don't have a dog either so going after the crips can be a workout to say the least. It sucks losing birds though. But there is a difference between sky blasting and shooting only birds that are committed, wings locked, feet down into your spread. I'll take ducks and geese on the pass but only when it's a for sure kill shot.

Honestly, it's been so long I don't remember. I stick to fishing exclusively these days, and I don't even do that enough to get good at it.

The birds aren't committed until their feet touch the water

Yep. No point in taking a bird, maybe 2 and educating fifteen of them!
