Does anyone do this? I've seen it done many times and many ways on a gardening forum I'm on. This is what I did.
MARCH 27 2011 SEEDS STARTED
MARIGOLD (Petite Mix)- Ht: 12” HABANERO PEPPER Ht: 18-24” 95 Days CARNIVAL MIX SWEET PEPPERS (Big Red, Chardonnay, Purple Beauty, Orange Sun, diamond) Ht: 18-24” 70 Days TOMATO BURPEE BETTER BOY HYBRID- Large bright red over 1# fruits. 72 Days WATERMELON ORANGE TENDERSWEET- Orange fleshed heirloom, oblong 35# fruits, 85 Days PUMPKIN DILL’S ATLANTIC GIANT- (seeds from 602# Pumpkin) 30-35’ vines, 120 Days
NOTES All seeds were started in Jiffy peat pellets in the Jiffy 72 cell dome mini greenhouse
Well, it didn't quite show up here as aligned and organized as I have it saved on my computer, but you get the idea. I decided to do this for the future. I will record when each seed sprouts and continue updating throughout the season. After a few years of doing this I should know just about everything to expect in my area and from each variety I grow.

I have an app on my iphone that I do this on, and it gives me all the info on exact fruits and veggies. When to plant, when to fertilize and all that good stuff.

Thanks for the opinion o the maters. I will be growing 3-5 different varieties. most of the tomatoes and peppers I started yesterday will be sold in 6-8 weeks anyway. I'm interested in how accurate that app is when it comes to planting dates. I noticed last season I got away with planting melons a little earlier than the USDA chart. That's why I want to start recording so many details. I'll start a thread for everyone to give tomato reccomendations.

We do it the old fashioned way. We keep a garden journal (notebook) and write everything down...

What's that app called Troy? I'm used to keeping a pen and paper journal but that would make life so much easier.
